If you’re on a shared or VPS hosting plan, there’s a good chance your host uses cPanel. It’s the most widely used hosting control panel in the world — and if you’ve never explored it, you’re probably missing tools that could make managing your website significantly easier.
What Is cPanel?
cPanel is a graphical interface that lets you manage your hosting account without touching a command line. Instead of SSH commands and config files, you get a dashboard with icons and menus for everything your hosting account can do.
What You Can Do in cPanel
File Management
The File Manager lets you browse, upload, edit, and delete files on your server directly through your browser. Useful for quick edits, uploading files, or modifying configuration files.
Create and manage professional email accounts (@yourdomain.com), set up email forwarding, configure spam filters, and access webmail — all without touching your domain registrar or a separate email service.
Databases
Create and manage MySQL databases through phpMyAdmin. WordPress and most CMS platforms use a database to store all their content — knowing how to access it is useful for migrations, repairs, and manual edits.
Domains
Add subdomains, set up domain redirects, and manage your DNS zone records directly from cPanel.
Security
Generate SSL certificates, manage IP address blocks, configure password-protected directories, and run security scans — all from a single interface.
WordPress Manager
Most modern cPanel installations include a WordPress Manager (WP Toolkit) that lets you install, update, and manage WordPress sites with a few clicks.
How to Access cPanel
Your host will have sent you cPanel login details when you signed up. You can usually access it at yourdomain.com/cpanel or via your host’s client area. SERVERIZZ clients can access cPanel directly from the billing portal.
Getting familiar with cPanel is one of the best investments of an hour you can make as a website owner. If you have questions about your hosting setup, our team is always available to help.
